Modifying a system's System Policy may impact policies that belong to other clients with which your system communicates using Intel Packet Protect. In order to apply your rule, the system with which you are attempting communication must have a rule with matching settings. If you have already coordinated rules with these other systems, modifying your rule will require modification to the rules for the other systems. Contact the administrator if you have any questions or concerns about modifying rules in the System Policy.
You may edit the Default Rule that comes with your System Policy. You can also delete the Default Rule from your System Policy. Click for more information on the default rule.
Use the Policy Editor to customize your System Policy. How do I display the Policy Editor?
Carefully consider the possible effects of changing the Default Rule. If you modify the Default Rule extensively on a system, then you run the risk of that system not being able to successfully negotiate a secure transmission with another system in your network.
If you have to re-install Intel Packet Protect for any reason, or need to recreate the Default Rule, you will lose your customizations and will have to specify them again.
These features are not available to systems that have enabled Intel® NetStructure™ Policy Manager.
