Installing Intel Packet Protect

Before installing Intel Packet Protect, you must have already set up your adapters and configured the EtherExpress PROSet II utility to enable support for IPSec. See Setting up Intel® Adapters and Configuring PROSet II for detailed information on setting up and configuring the adapters and PROSet.

To install Intel Packet Protect

  1. Insert the Intel CD into your CD-ROM drive.

  2. Open the PktPt folder.

  3. Open the NT4 folder or the Win98 folder, depending on your operating system.

  4. Double-click setup.exe.

  5. Follow the prompts in the setup program.

Uninstalling Intel Packet Protect

If you need to reinstall Intel Packet Protect for any reason, you must first uninstall it.

To uninstall Intel Packet Protect

  1. Open the Control Panel.

  2. Click Add/Remove Programs.

  3. Select Packet Protect.

  4. Click Add/Remove.

  5. Click Yes when asked if you are sure you want to uninstall Intel Packet Protect.

  6. When the uninstall is complete, click OK.

  7. Reboot your computer.

Important Note:

There are no executable programs in the Intel Packet Protect folder that will uninstall Intel Packet Protect on your system. You must use the Add/Remove Programs applet to uninstall Intel Packet Protect.
