Using Intel PROSet II

Intel PROSet II is an advanced configuration utility that lets you test Intel(R) PRO/100 network adapters and configure standard and advanced features. After you install the Intel(R) PRO/100 network adapter's Windows drivers, you can install PROSet II. (Note: When installing Windows NT 4.0 drivers, PROSet II is automatically installed, except when using a floppy disk. See Making a Floppy Disk for driver installation.) When you restart your computer after installing PROSet II, you'll see two icons as shown below. Windows 95 users, see the note below.

PROSet II runs when you click the PROSet II tray icon or the Intel PROSet II icon in the Control Panel (shown below).

The main PROSet II window is similar to the illustration below. To configure Teaming features (Adapter Fault Tolerance, Adaptive Load Balancing, and Fast EtherChannel), advanced driver settings and other parameters, see the PROSet II online help topics.

NOTE: A different version of PROSet will be installed on computers that have Windows 95 present. To install PROSet on computers that have Windows 95, run the Advanced Networking Setup utility. When you run this, the only option available for Windows 95 will be Intel PROSet.
