The following procedure is Required to finish LAN installation for Windows 95 system: 1 To prepare for LAN installation you must close both the Installation Progress window and the Software Selection window before continuing. Now initiate LAN installation with the following instructions: 2 Click on the Device Manager tab and select the View devices by type button. 3 Double-click either Network Adapters in the list area or Other Devices if Network Adapters does not appear in the list area. 4 If you expanded the Network Adapters list, double-click the Intel(R) Ethernet adapter. or If you expanded the Other Devices list, double-click the PCI Ethernet Controller adapter. 5 Select the Driver tab and press the Update Driver button. 6 The Update Device Driver Wizard appears. Now choose No, Select Driver From List and click Next. 7 If the LAN drivers are not listed in the Model’s list box, select Back. 8 Select Network Adapters from the list box and click Next. 9 Choose Have Disk and browse to the driver location which is X:\Intel chipset\Lan then click OK. X: your CD-ROM drive letter 10 Select the desired Intel adapter from the Model’s list box and click OK. 11 If prompted, provide Computer and Workgroup names. 12 When prompted to Insert your Windows 95 Installation CD, click OK. 13 Select the location of your Windows 95 CD or setup files and click OK. 14 If prompted for version conflicts, press Yes to keep existing files. 15 When Windows has finished copying drivers, dismiss any open dialog windows and restart your system. Note: On some versions of Windows 95, you may need to repeat Steps 2 through 15 a second time for the LAN installation to be successful.
