The following procedure is Required to finish LAN installation for Windows 98/98SE/ME: 1 To prepare for LAN installation you must close both the Installation Progress window and the Software Selection window before continuing. 2 Click on the Device Manager tab and select the View devices by type button. 3 Under the Other Devices in the list area double-click the PCI Ethernet Controller. The Controller Properties appears. 4 Select the Driver tab and then select Update Driver. 5 The Update Device Driver Wizard appears, click Next. 6 Choose Search for a better driver and click Next. 7 Select Specify Location and enter the path X:\Intel chipset\LAN then click Next. Note: X: Your CD-ROM drive letter 8 Choose The updated driver (Recommended) and continue to click Next at each dialog until the driver files are copied. Note: You may need the Windows installation CD to install files. 9 When prompted to Insert your LAN Driver Disk, click OK. 10 The Copying Files dialog appears. From the dropdown list, select X:\Intel chipset\LAN and click OK. 11 When prompted to Insert your Windows Installation CD, click OK. 12 Select the location of your Windows CD or setup files and click OK. 13 When Windows has finished copying drivers, click Finish and then restart your system.
