Hang condition / data corruption

PROBLEM - A hang condition or data corruption can occur when a system is setup with the failing hardware configuration and a 'read/write/multiple' command is issued by software.

Machines AFFECTED - All 6382/S, 6384/D, and 6387/T with two IDE hard disk installed, one of which is a IBM FUJI installed in the middle position on the IDE cable and another manufacturer's drive installed in the end position of the IDE cable.

SOLUTION - The work around for this problem is to physically configure IBM (FUJI) drive at the end of the drive cable when there is a second non FUJI / IDE drive in the system. If the middle position connector is attached to the system board, the connector attached to the longest cable should be attached to the IBM (FUJI drive).

Additional Information - N/A
