Windows for workgroups / LAN
PROBLEM - Customer is using Windows for workgroups to transfer a large number of files
to an OS/2 LAN server 3.0. The LAN adapters being used are either the IBM ISA-16 token
ring adapter or the 3com Token Ring adapter. The system hangs while transferring files to
the server. The system also hangs at times when trying to logon to the LAN server.
Machines AFFECTED - Valuepoint 6381 DX33 systems.
SOLUTION - The 6381 is missing Token Ring hardware interrupts.
Workaround - The fix is to set the IBM ISA-16 Token Ring adapter interrupt to 2. The
3com Token Ring adapter interrupt needs to be set to either interrupt 2, 10 or 11 and set
to edge triggered mode as opposed to level sensitive.
